Guitar Freak is Hollwood, California guitarist Rick Brannon's first five-song EP/CD,
an all instrumental release which opens with Brannon's cover of Led Zeppelin's
"Immigrant Song" (with Rick on Theremin). The remaining four
originals follow a hard rock and progressive path, with the guitar tracks
dominating the mix and grabbing the listener's attention. In particular,
"Honey On Velvet" is a live im DVDprovisation featuring Brannon
on the Boomerang Guitar Sampler, while "Private Isle" is an exercise
in aggrezzive "wave" music, with the guitarist trading licks
on a series of nylon string, clean electric, and distorted electric guitars.
